Advanced Throwing - On and Off the Wheel Techniques

This is a course ONLY for advanced potters. people who are proficient at throwing and trimming
various forms and understand the multiple drying stages of clay. This course will focus on forms
that are thrown on the wheel and then altered off the wheel. For example, oval trays, teapots,
pitchers, mugs, pour-overs etc. We will be looking at various source material in class for
inspiration and discussing form and function.
* Prerequisite: Must have taken the Introduction to Ceramics: Wheel Throwing Norris

Subsidy (Grant) Assistance for Enrolling in Mini Courses
Current Northwestern students may apply for a subsidy online at www.minicourses.org. Please submit applications by Friday, January 10. Grant Assistance range from $10-30 off a 4-8 week course.
Information is subject to change. Look for more complete descriptions atwww.minicourses.org. No one 15 years of age or under may participate. All enrollment adjustments are handled by the Mini Course Program.
All Mini Courses are 4 to 6 weeks long, unless otherwise listed. You must attend the first class, or you may be dropped from the course without refund. You will receive an email with the location information before the first class. Due to unforeseen circumstances, classes may be cancelled, but may be rescheduled to an additional week. Refunds are not given for any missed or rescheduled classes and classes canceled due to low enrollment. Students may not switch between A and B sections. You must attend the section you are enrolled in.
WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Refunds for most Mini Courses may be given, minus a $20.00 withdrawal fee, if requested prior to the first class session. No refunds will be provided if a withdrawal is requested after the first class session. The withdrawal fee may be purchased on this website by selecting Mini Course Cancellation Fee. No other cancellation fee purchased on this website will be accepted to withdraw from a Mini Course. The Mini Courses Program does not issue full or partial refunds for lack of attendance or indifference to the course curriculum.
